As in previous years, the “SXM Trails” Association participated last Sunday in the “Coastal Cleanup Day 2019”. A great civic clean-up action that has once again proved fruitful on the beach of Nettle Bay with nearly 200 kilos of waste collected!
Armed with gloves and bags, the valiant volunteers of the “SXM Trails” Association met at Nettlé Bay, more precisely on the beach where the “Dream” restaurants were located (before Irma) and the "Sand". In the space of a few hours, the participants in this eco-citizen day collected and cataloged 195 kilos of waste of all kinds (bags, plastic cups and other rubbish). Well done to them!
In the meantime, the time is long gone when explorers discovered deserted islands with sandy beaches. Today's adventurers, if they discover an island, are likely to be made up only of plastic waste. Shame on the polluters! _AF
