For the third consecutive year, the French Football Federation is conducting its “Le Foot à l'Ecole” operation.

The schools of Saint-Martin officially launched, last Wednesday, the operation with Dominique Boyer, the Inspector of National Education, the directors of elementary schools, Hervé Happy of the Saint-Martin Football League, and Florian Bechon , of the French Football Federation which presented to the school directors the program, "Le Foot à l'école".

Mr. Bechon was able to appreciate the dynamism of the Saint-Martin school directors who welcomed the program with great enthusiasm.

Carried out in partnership with the Ministry of National Education, the Ministry of the City, Youth and Sports, and the school sports federation USEP, "Le Foot à l'École" is aimed at students from 10 elementary schools in Saint-Martin.

On a voluntary basis, the classes of CE1, CE2, CM1, CM2 as well as those of the ULIS-school are invited to carry out a double project, sporting and cultural, around football. The first part deals with initiation to football, through a cycle of at least six field sessions. For this 2016-2017 school year, 36 teachers from Saint-Martin benefited from a football cycle in PSE with a community animator.

The second part of the project consists of producing a cultural production (video, drawing, etc.) on the theme "Are you ready to play football?". It will be a question of explaining the following values, Pleasure - Respect - Commitment - Tolerance - Solidarity, through the football activity.

The productions will be subject to validation by representatives of the National Education service, the Saint-Martin Football League and the USEP during the territorial jury which will be a first in Saint-Martin. The two best artistic productions will receive a jersey from the French school offered by the Federation. Each school registered in the operation will receive a kit of materials. “The setting up of this meeting made it possible to consolidate and develop the existing links between the Saint Martin football league, the National Education services, the USEP and the schools in the area. We now intend to involve as many classes and schools as possible in the “football at school” operation in Saint-Martin, ”emphasizes Florian Bechon.

For his part, Jean-Luc Elice, the president of USEP “very much appreciated the discussions with Florian Bechon and Hervé Happy. Our common goal is to develop in the children of Saint-Martin values such as Pleasure - Respect - Commitment - Tolerance - Solidarity (LOANS) with the support of football activity. Thus, our children will be ready to be future sporting citizens ”.  _AF
