This Friday, November 20 is International Child Rights Day. A day that celebrates the 26th anniversary of the adoption of the International Convention on the Rights of the Child. This year, it is the turn of the Dutch side to organize this event entitled "Strong families form strong societies".

The direction of childhood and families of the Community is associated with this day. "This demonstration is a reminder of the adoption on 20/11/1989 by the United Nations of the international convention on the rights of the child. It is important to remember that the objective of this convention is to protect the rights of children around the world and improve their living conditions, "said Anita Francillette, child welfare psychologist, director of the 'childhood and families of the Community, which returns to point 5 of this agreement. I remind you of the preponderant place of parents in the lives of their children: "A parent has the right and the duty to guide and advise the child in the exercise of his rights and the development of his capacities". The notion of guide is fundamental, because a parent represents the first model for a child. ” As part of this day, the children of the library-documentary center (BCD) and of the extracurricular will participate today, from 16 to 17 pm, in the radio program "Don't cut my branhes but let me blossom" on Youth Radio on 92.5 FM.

In addition, the World Health Organization (WHO) is sounding the alarm: a large majority of diseases linked to climate change concern children under the age of 5. Global warming directly threatens their health. Recently, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), in the journal Pediatrics, urged pediatricians and politicians to work together to resolve this crisis and protect children from threats related in particular to the climate.
