On December 11, a jewelry store, located on the Marina Port-la-Royale, in Marigot, was the victim of a spectacular mid-day burglary. Several individuals, armed with masses, had smashed one of the windows of the establishment to steal its contents. After barely a month of investigation, the investigations carried out by the gendarmerie services quickly led to the arrest of four individuals, three from Saint Martin and one from Sint Maarten. Placed in police custody, the four criminals, aged twenty years, were brought up yesterday morning, to the parquet floor of Basse-Terre where they will have to answer for their misdeeds before the courts.
