The first round of the 2017 legislative elections in Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon did not succeed to the Minister for Overseas Annick Girardin (PRG).
The latter will face Stéphane Lenormand (Archipel Demain), vice-president of the Territorial Council in the second round. At the end of this ballot, the two candidates obtained the same number of votes: 1.209 (41,59%). The minister was however elected in the first round in 2012. If she does not win these legislative elections on Saturday, she will have to leave the government. As a reminder, Annick Girardin was appointed last May Minister of Overseas in the government of Edouard Philippe, succeeding Ericka Bareigts. _EH
