Slight drop in unemployment in Saint Martin

Unemployment fell by 0,9% in December 2016 in Saint-Martin. The number of job seekers in category A stands at 4.308, according to the regional directorate for enterprises, competition, consumption, work and employment (DIECCTE) of Guadeloupe.

This number fell by 0,4% over three months, but increased by 0,3% over one year. Young people are once again affected: there is an increase of 7,8% over a month for those under 25 in category A, and 9,2% over a year. For categories A, B, C, there are 4.795 applicants registered with Pôle Emploi in December 2016: a fall of 0,9% over one month and 0,2% over three months. Finally, in Saint-Barthélemy, their number increased by 4,4% over one month for category A. _EH
