The SXM Festival / A new partnership between the SXM Festival and the Peace BOAT

0

The SXM Festival has partnered with the non-profit organization Parties4Peace and Peace Boat US to provide a scholarship to young people in Saint-Martin. The winners will participate in the 100th Peace Boat trip. The trip will start in Ushuaia and end in Valparaiso, Chile.

You will discover the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations as part of an experimental study program “Education for peace and the SDGs in South America”, while sharing your experience of the recent passage of the cyclone in Saint-Martin and the adaptability of the island. On board the ship, young people will share their experiences and learn about topics of interest to them, such as sustainable development, community development, resilient cities and environmental awareness.

During this 100th trip, which will take place from February 18 to 28 in Patagonia, the US Peace Boat will focus on SDG 13 (Climate action) and SDG 14 (Life underwater).
