The SXM festival, which starts on March 13 and ends on the 17th, will take place again this year on both parts of the island. Beyond the artistic and musical aspect, the SXM Festival, created by Julian Arbia, aims to develop tourism on the island by bringing in new customers. "We have a ten-year plan and plan to bring 10 participants to fruition," said Abdou El Ouali.
The organization has already won a bet, that of gaining the support of part of the local population. If the SXM Festival had sold 200 passes to locals during its first edition, it has grown to 1500 this year. As for international customers: "we are posting a 30% drop in sales compared to the previous edition," he adds. Or 1500 passes sold to festival-goers outside the island.
However, Abdou El Ouali underlines that the share of VIP has increased and represents half of the international festival-goers.
