A judicial investigation is initiated. The gendarmes will continue their investigative work in order to establish precisely the course of the events. The alleged author having admitted the facts, the case will probably be referred to the Assize Court. In the meantime, he was remanded in custody under a criminal deposit warrant in Guadeloupe.

Regarding the fact that the name is passed over in silence, the gendarmerie does its work in compliance with article 11 of the code of criminal procedure concerning the secrecy of the investigation. It has never been mentioned that this is a hate crime and therefore based on the poor man's membership in such and such a community. Stop projecting your own victimization onto others.
