The Festival of Languages ​​and Cultures comes to the Collège du Mont des Accords

As part of this festival organized by the National Education in Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin with the support of Secular Solidarity, the UP Foundation and the Tourist Office of Saint-Martin, the Collège du Mont des Accords had planned a program as varied as it is entertaining. For an afternoon this Wednesday, the students of the college as well as other schools celebrated multiculturalism brilliantly.

After a welcome speech by the principal of the college, Mr. Desiage, and a second by Mr. Sanz, vice-rector of the national education service of Saint-Barthélemy and Saint Martin, the show began with the national and local anthem. , performed by Solange Lake, Roneliah Romney and Mathieu Dumas. The dance was celebrated by the 4th grade classes and those of the elementary school Hervé Williams, including a demonstration of bachata, a Latin dance from the Dominican Republic which is danced to the music of the same name. The couples of young dancers, dressed for the occasion, transmitted the rhythm to the public, charmed by their performance. Languages ​​were obviously given pride of place, whether it was French, English, Creole or even Spanish. Aaliyah Weinium, a student at the Émile Choisy school, recited a poem in French, full of emotion. Other young people have followed one another to give pride of place to French poetry, such as Yaline Dulore and Laurianne Noel. The declamation in English of another equally melodious oral poem was performed by Karina Rogers. Several performances were on the program of this festival of languages ​​and cultures concocted by the college, with a linguistic diversity noticed and appreciated by the assembly made up of parents, young people and teaching staff, proving once again the strength that resides in the coexistence of different cultures. The students of Mr. Lechopier proposed a performance in English, the students of Mrs. Very, Mrs. Carty and Mr. Gradel made Spanish resound in the courtyard of the establishment and the Creole echoes still revolve around the flamboyant thanks to Mr. from Alexis. The theater was not forgotten, Madame Adige's students had a blast. The final bouquet of this show, which lasted two hours, was the performance of Madame Hilare's students with a dance on the sports field, with impressive energy and synchronization. _VX
