The Territorial Youth Council commemorates the Treaty of Concordia

The Territorial Youth Council (CTJ) will organize a commemorative march on Thursday morning as part of the anniversary of the Treaty of Concordia. The public is invited to participate. The departure will take place at 6 am at the Bellevue border. This treaty, which was signed on March 23, 1648, made it possible to organize the partition of the island between France and Holland. The text, available on the website of the Tourist Office, indicates “that the French and Dutch who inhabit this island will live as friends and allies, without either side being molested” and “ that hunting, fishing (…) harbors and roadsteads, and other amenities of the island will be common, to meet the needs of the inhabitants ”. Thus was born the "Friendly Island". _EH
