The artists' corner: A colorful and metal gallery

0

A couple of artists, raku art for Madame, metal art for Monsieur, opened the doors of their gallery "The Silver Door" last Saturday.

Located at Sandy Ground, the gallery offers an interesting collection of works created by Carla and Mark Templeton. In their workshop adjoining the gallery, Carla presented to the public come for the occasion, the demonstration of her know-how.

Carla's passion is to mold clay by hand, her technique is free and adventurous. In recent years, the artist has been able to expand his creative field by turning to Raku which is a Japanese method of enamelling.

We use a more solid sandstone because the pieces must withstand large temperature differences.

Carla draws her inspiration from her strolls along the sea, her talent feeds on this Caribbean environment to compose colorful pieces reminiscent of marine life.

Carla and Mark love to produce unique and original pieces, they hope to be able to share through their works, the joy that lives in their creative process.
