In December 2005, the treasurer-payer general of Guadeloupe made a report to the public prosecutor because he suspected the receiver-collector of the Treasury of Saint Martin of embezzlement of public funds.

In June 2006, the latter was the subject of a disciplinary sanction from the Minister of the Economy, he was automatically transferred to the general treasury of Yvelines.

The collector applied to the courts to have this decision set aside and to request his reinstatement in Saint-Martin. From administrative court to administrative court passing the Council of State, he finally has his legal battle against the State. In June 2018, the Council of State ordered the Minister of Public Action to reinstate the person concerned in the post of head of post in Saint-Martin within three months. Not having respected the decision, the State was ordered by the Council of State to pay the person concerned the sum of 20 euros.
