The Rotary Club of St. Martin Sunset opened its second small free, partly Dutch library, near the Raoul Illidge sports complex in the presence of the director of the National Institute of Sport, Mr. Maikel Cornet, as well as members of the club.

The concept of the small, free library was introduced in 2009 by Rotarian Todd Bol of Hudson, Wisconsin, and the idea quickly spread to thousands of communities across the United States, with the goal of raising awareness. opinion about the importance of literacy. The small free library is nothing new for the island, as Rotary Sunset presented the first small free library with its launch on the Marigot Seafront last December. The goal of the small free library is primarily to encourage more reading and promote literacy in our communities.

The Rotary Club of St. Martin Sunset encourages the general public to drop by one of the island's three small libraries, pick up a book and leave one. Members of the community are encouraged to donate books they no longer use. The club wishes to express its sincere thanks to Loumi Administrative NV for his generous donation, as well as to the director and members of the National Institute of Sport and, by the same to the Raoul Illidge Sports Complex.

For those interested in sponsoring a small free library, please do not hesitate to contact the club via rotarysxmsunset@gmail.com.
