Sint Maarten KPSM police forces monitor and analyze the situation at one of the border posts with the French side
During the surveillance of the Belvédère - Quartier d'Orléans passage at the end of last week, it appeared that a group of masked individuals had barricaded the border with construction materials. The situation has deteriorated to the point that people wishing to cross are likely to pay a “border crossing” fee.
Due to the current situation, KPSM urges drivers wishing to switch to the French side to use an alternative route.
Police will continue to monitor the situation.
