As indicated in our edition yesterday, the Collectivity decided, during the last Executive Council, to grant financial aid to the development of sport in the territory and to the accompaniment of some of "its" Saint-Martin sportsmen.

• Payment of plane tickets for the participation of gymnasts in the “Islands Games” in Martinique.

The community of Saint-Martin took care of the plane tickets for 6 people (4 athletes and 2 adults) who went to the 21st edition of the Games of the islands in Martinique. More than 500 athletes from 13 to 16 years old competed in different disciplines such as swimming, football, gymnastics, basketball, rugby, volleyball and cycling.

• Covering of various expenses for the Meeting International d'Athlétisme de Saint-Martin for the Speedy Plus association.

The community of Saint-Martin has decided to support this international sporting event by allocating a grant for the organization of the event, but also by covering part of the costs inherent in the event, in terms of accommodation and catering for athletes. While the community has spent more than € 100 on this sporting event, President Daniel Gibbs said that this year it was to save the Athletics Meeting, but that the association Speedy Plus should be organized in advance for the next edition to avoid additional costs.

• Allocation of financial aid for the pursuit of studies at CREPS Antilles-Guyane.

Very sensitive to this type of financial commitment, the president proposed to extend the financial aid of € 6000 towards a young Saint-Martin who joined CREPS last year at the Pôle Boxe anglaise. His sports results are encouraging, he was a winner in the Middleweight Boxing Championship in

Martinique. This financial assistance from the community will allow him to continue his studies at CREPS for the 2017-2018 school year.

• Financial contribution to the Antilles-Guyana Futsal Super Cup in Saint-Martin.

The Executive Council has indeed decided to contribute to the organization of the Antilles-Guyana Super Cup of Futsal, organized by the Black Motion Warriors association, from August 17 to 19, at the Salle François Matthews in Galisbay, by paying a grant of 4000 €. The Black Motion Warriors association can now train regularly, thanks to the renovation of sports infrastructure by the community. For their participation in the Caribbean tournament in Guadeloupe last February, the players from Saint-Martin distinguished themselves by being part of the final podium, and now wish to create the same enthusiasm in Saint-Martin.

• Granting of financial aid for the continuation of studies at the Football CV Academy in England.

The Territorial Council has indeed decided to continue supporting a young Saint-Martin who joined the English Academy in 2016 and for which he had received assistance from the community. Noticed by professional clubs, the young man has every chance to evolve at the highest level. The community has thus decided to continue its commitment to the tune of € 6000 for the 2017-2018 school year. _AF
