The Caribbean Business Cruise stopped at the CCISM: a day rich in exchanges and opportunities

On Tuesday, February 27, the CCISM had the pleasure of welcoming the Caribbean Business Cruise, a delegation of dynamic entrepreneurs and professionals from the four corners of the Caribbean, from various sectors of activity. This stopover in Saint-Martin turned out to be an exceptional day, punctuated by strong moments and fruitful exchanges.

The day's program was dense and captivating, offering participants a multitude of opportunities to  discover the economic dynamism of Saint-Martin thanks to high-level interventions by:

– The Community of Saint-Martin represented by the 1st Vice-President, Mr. Alain Richardson who gave his speech on the economic dynamics and development perspective of the territory. As well as a presentation by the Director of Taxation Mr. Xavier Ottavi who provided information on the tax implications of activities in Saint-Martin.

– The CCISM represented by the 1st Vice-President, Jeanne Vanterpool, on the opportunities and advantages for entrepreneurs.

– The Tourist Office represented by the 2nd Vice-President of the Community of Saint-Martin and Vice-President of the Tourist Office, Bernadette Davis with her speech on Saint-Martin, an exceptional destination.

– The Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce of the Dutch side, Ife Badejo, who underlined the importance of cohesion and synergy between the two parts of the territory, French and Dutch, for the economic and social development of the territory .

Also, in a spirit of solidarity and sharing of experiences, participants were able to identify the major obstacles to economic development in several sectors such as agri-food, digital and commerce and find concrete and feasible solutions.

This frank and constructive exchange made it possible to:

– strengthen collaboration and solidarity between economic players in the Caribbean.

– highlight the importance of synergy and pooling resources to face common challenges.

– identify concrete and achievable solutions for more inclusive and sustainable economic development in the region.

The enthusiasm and commitment of the participants was palpable throughout the day. The interventions of the experts, the discussions and the networking opportunities contributed to creating a dynamic and positive atmosphere, conducive to the economic and social growth of the region.
