The first stage of the Guadeloupe kitesurfing championship organized by the Guadeloupe League and Wind Adventures will take place this weekend on the beach of Orient Bay.
Thirty-five riders from Guadeloupe, Martinique, Saint-Martin and Saint-Barth will compete in two different events. The day of Saturday February 13 will be dedicated to the Speedcrossing event followed by an evening at the Wind Adventures club. Sunday is a great freestyle show on Orient Bay where spectators will be in the front row to appreciate the style figures of the riders.
The event is an opportunity for competitors to be able to qualify for the French Kitesurf Championship thanks to the Speedcrossing event. This consists of carrying out with kitesurfing equipment as quickly as possible a course delimited by buoys. The departure will be from the area of the nature reserve and will end in Orient Bay. Open to twin-tip, directional boards and foils, the event promises to be rich in styles of navigation. Freestyle which consists of the realization of figures of styles will be evaluated according to various criteria: difficulty of the figure, complexity, fluidity, style and height. It is therefore an event which reserves many surprises because the riders reserve the right to make the best of the shows in the time allotted to them (7 minutes). The 7 best figures will be noted.
Rounds will be judged by professionals with a critical eye. Registrations will be definitively closed on Saturday February 13 at 8:30 am.
