It was with a muscular trade wind (18 - 20 knots) that the FFVL Guadeloupe / Northern Islands Championship took place on Orient Bay.
14 registered in foil and 25 in border cross (coming from Guadeloupe, Martinique and St Martin). Saturday was dedicated to the foil, and it is once again Sébastien Queney from Guadeloupe who dominates the event with 7 races won. His experience, his preparation and his box wing allow him to outrun other riders. Half of the registrants took part in a foil race for the first time and bravely went through the heats! 7 rounds have been validated.
On Sunday, the first AIR BORDER CROSS in the Antilles was on the program. The weather conditions were at the top, with 20 knots established. The riders were able to set off in groups of four on a "V" downwind course (3 buoys of 80 cm; 1 jibe and 1 buoy of 1,60 m before the finish). Olivier Rouxel (France) wins the event, followed by Lucas and Romain Velten. Théo Demanez finished 4th (1st in Guadeloupe / St Martin, provisional ranking).
