This February 27, the Ministry of the Interior and Overseas Territories, the Ministry of Culture and the Organizing Committee of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games published the winners of the call for projects “Cultural Olympiad in Outreach -mer 2024” dedicated to creation in overseas territories.

The Cultural Olympiad, a multidisciplinary cultural program designed to strengthen the dialogue between art and sport, is part of this strong desire to bring together all territories to make the Games an artistic and cultural highlight. It is in this context that the Ministry of the Interior and Overseas Territories, the Ministry of Culture and the Organizing Committee for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games launched a joint national call for projects in November 2023 at destination for overseas cultural and sporting actors. Designed to support the production of cultural and artistic projects created and presented in the 12 overseas territories, this call highlights projects that will bring together art, sport and Olympic and Paralympic values ​​in a festive, popular, participatory and inclusive in overseas territories. Arousing strong support from cultural stakeholders, more than 110 projects were submitted. Number which testifies to the dynamism of overseas creation in all artistic disciplines: dance, photography, cinema, exhibition, street art, theater, music, circus etc. The study of the projects was structured around three criteria: the adequacy of the project with the Olympic and Paralympic values ​​and the general objectives of the Paris 2024 Cultural Olympiad, artistic quality and financial, technical and operational feasibility. The envelope for the call for projects amounts to €350, awarded to 000 projects spread across all overseas territories except Wallis and Futuna, Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy in which none Unfortunately, the project was not submitted. The National Commission met on January 20, 9  in order to choose the winners of the “Overseas Cultural Olympiad 2024” program: Guadeloupe (3), Guyana (2), Reunion Island (2), Martinique (3), Mayotte (4), New Caledonia (1), French Polynesia (3), Saint-Pierre and Miquelon (2).
