Introduction of start-up aid for the new Nursing Homes

Saint-Martin has to face a significant need for places for early childhood care and its offer remains insufficient today to be able to meet the demands of parents.

In the post Irma context, some structures closed and childminders left the territory while others were no longer able, due to an inadequate housing, to receive children at home. As of December 31, 2016, Saint-Martin had 244 places in this type of childcare, as of July 1, 2019, there were only 158. The Collectivity of Saint-Martin has, so far, financially supported the development of crèches, micro- nurseries and the reception of nursery assistants. To meet demand, it now wishes to multiply the emergence of Nursery Assistants - MAM.

Each MAM must draw up its financing plan, knowing that they can also obtain financial aid allocated by CAF.

- An operating aid of 3000 € for new MAM

- An investment bonus known as the installation bonus of € 300 (up to € 600 in priority territory)

- A loan to improve the reception area for a maximum amount of € 10.

The community also wishes to allocate additional start-up aid, in particular through the training of candidates for accreditation and the support of laureates moving towards a MAM project. The objective is to create 2 new MAMs in 2020.

The Territorial Council voted in favor of the amount of aid from the Collectivité for new MAMs, which amounts to € 2000 with an increase of € 1000 for districts in city politics. A convention entitled "Charter of reciprocal commitments" will define the terms of allocation of this aid.
