At the end of July last year, the gendarmes checked a car whose model was one of the most stolen in France. Investigations are carried out on the vehicle, in particular on the films placed on the windows. Fingerprints are taken, they are those of JB, originally from Jamaica and aged 39.

The investigation is focused on the latter who is a bodybuilder. A search is carried out at his home; three cars are found the yard. During the operation, JB got behind the wheel of a car although he does not have a driving license. He was arrested and taken into police custody. He will be prosecuted for driving without a license, concealment of stolen goods and concealed work. He was summoned on April 22 before the local court of Saint-Martin.

At the helm, JB confirms that he has been repainting the cars for ten years in his workshop installed in the courtyard of his house without being declared. However, he specifies that since the facts, he went to the CCISM to initiate the procedures.

He also says he does not know the origin of the cars that his customers bring him to repaint them. Finally, concerning the driving license, he acknowledges without any difficulty that he does not hold one. "I did not have time to spend it", he justified himself.

After deliberation, the court acquitted JB of the facts of concealment but condemned him for driving without a license and the exercise of an undeclared activity to a two-month suspended prison sentence. (soualigapost.com)
