The last health bulletin drawn up from Monday October 26 to Sunday November 1 reports 285 new active cases identified, 7 deaths and 29 new admissions to the CHU including four direct entries in intensive care.

If we look at the latest figures, the number of positive cases has increased slightly. Vulnerability on Guadeloupe soil is still at a “high” level. It is young people who respect barrier gestures the least.

Seven new deaths are unfortunately to be deplored in health establishments. They all have in common the presence of co-morbidities linked to chronic diseases. The average age for men is 76,8 years and for women 48,5 years. Which, since the start of the epidemic, brings to 133 the number of deaths of Guadeloupe residents in health establishments.

Four intensive care admissions

In addition, the number of people admitted to hospital is increasing slightly. That of severe cases is always linked to fragile patients with comorbidities. Hospital activity is up slightly with 29 new admissions to the CHU, including four direct entries in intensive care.

As of Sunday, November 1, there were 14 Covid + people hospitalized in the intensive care unit of the CHU and 82 in the medical services of the establishments (CHU, CHBT, Marie-Galante, Beauperthuy, Capesterre Belle Eau and CMS).

It should be noted that 24 patients left the CHU and returned to their homes and three patients left the intensive care unit.

Young people less concerned by barrier gestures

The incidence rate - which measures the number of people positive for Covid-19 per 100 inhabitants over a period of one week - has increased, even if it remains for this week lower in the age group of 000 years and over (45 versus 64,43).

On the other hand, 15-44 year olds (105,19 / 100 versus 000 in week 96,42) are more affected.

These figures can be interpreted as better protection for the oldest people and less respect for barrier measures by the youngest. _AF
