In a press release, Overseas Minister George Pau-Langevin condemned "forcefully" the assault of an individual "kidnapped and tortured for several days in an apartment in the agglomeration of Pointe-à-Pitre by five people, in because of his homosexuality. " The Minister also denounces "firmly the homophobic acts which have been noted and calls on everyone's responsibility", deploring "the level of violence and recalls the importance of the measures to combat crime deployed locally".
