A meeting was held at 16 p.m. in the prefecture at the request of representatives of the trade union organizations that demonstrated on Thursday. It followed negotiations set up by the Collectivity, mediation which took place in the prefecture in February and mediation set up by the administrative court of Saint-Martin.
In the presence of the President of the Collectivity and the State services (DEAL, DJSCS, DIECCTE, ARS, National Education), the Prefect wished to bring together all the actors to address each of the issues raised.
The UGTG representatives present wished to express as a priority and exclusively to any other question the subject relating to the 16 contracts not renewed within CTOS.
Each of the parties presented its legal arguments which only an administrative court could arbitrate.
In order to ensure a way out of the crisis, the departments present, and in particular the Collectivity and the DIECCTE, proposed the establishment of qualifying training in partnership with Pôle Emploi with a level of compensation equal to their previous remuneration for the duration of Training. The training offered corresponds to promising sectors in terms of employment (early childhood, construction and public works, catering and hotel industry, sports and socio-educational activities).
Strong and personalized support was offered for each of the people concerned. The UGTG representatives refused this proposal. The delegation left the room without addressing the other points of claim.
