Jeanne Rogers-Vanterpool, head of the New Direction party list for Saint-Martin, said yesterday in the press that she supports the strike movement of some of the agents of La Poste de Marigot. She considers it “absolutely legal and justified in view of the deterioration in the reception of Saint-Martin users and the working conditions of the staff”. Across the national territory, the candidate evokes the significant profits of the company which continues the cuts in its staff: “La Poste would have cut no less than 10.000 jobs since 2008.” Ms. Rogers-Vanterpool demands that the company “respects and performs its public service missions and ensures a postal presence that meets the expectations of the people of Saint-Martin”. _EH
