Accompanied by Colonel Stéphane Paulin, General Debarge went to Saint-Barthélemy and then to Saint-Martin.
This visit was the occasion, during two military ceremonies, to congratulate several gendarmes, including two reservists, badly hit following the passage of cyclone Irma on September 6, 2017.
General Debarge thus handed over citations to the order of the regiment with the award of the national defense gold medal with bronze star to 17 non-commissioned officers and two testimonies of satisfaction of the Director General of the Gendarmerie for the two reservists .
During this trip, and through numerous meetings, the General was able to take stock of the daily engagement of the soldiers of the gendarmerie on the two islands.
An update on the reconstruction of the gendarmerie infrastructure was also presented.
