The third Franco-Dutch quadripartite consultation meeting (France, Netherlands, Saint-Martin, Sint Maarten) took place last week in Philipsburg. This meeting allowed an important step forward in terms of cooperation: the Prime Minister of Sint Maarten William Marlin and the Prefect Anne Laubies signed a treaty relating to the maritime borders of the island. Several themes were discussed during this meeting, including military cooperation - between the French State and the Dutch side - and the police cooperation treaty, which will regulate the way in which the police exercise their authority. Issues relating to education, health and social protection were also raised. The Prime Minister praised the work done by the different parties.
