Come in large numbers to participate in this free training initiated by the community of Saint-Martin.

NOTA BENE : This training improves understanding of the disease and its manifestations. In this way, it promotes the dissemination of good care practices by helping loved ones to acquire gestures and behaviors adapted to everyday situations.

1. WHO IS THIS TRAINING FOR?

The training is intended for family caregivers who accompany day to day a person suffering from Alzheimer's disease or a related disease. The family caregiver faces a fourfold emotional, psychological, physical and financial burden. The sick person requires vigilance which gradually mobilizes the caregiver 24 hours a day and which leads to situations of physical and psychological exhaustion.

2. WHY TRAINING?

The community of Saint-Martin, through the local health contract, wishes to support family carers of Alzheimer's patients (and related diseases), whose number is increasing each year.

• Family caregivers wish to acquire knowledge and skills to support patients with dignity. They are looking for solutions to help them manage daily life.

• Providing knowledge about the mechanisms and manifestations of the disease can help them understand the behavior of their loved one (repetition of a sentence or gesture, changes in mood).
