Olympique de Marseille has published a press release announcing the termination of Patrice Evra's contract. The OM evokes a decision by mutual agreement between the club and the player to end the collaboration. It follows the kick by the Marseille defender to a supporter of the club during the warm-up before the defeat at Guimaraes, in the Europa League.

Friday, November 10, 2017 risks leaving an indelible mark on Patrice Evra's career. Exactly eight days after having kicked an OM supporter, during the warm-up before the defeat suffered at Guimaraes (0-1), the 36-year-old French international has indeed learned that he was suspended by UEFA until June 2018 ... and that his contract with the Marseille club was officially terminated.

“By mutual agreement, Olympique de Marseille and Patrice Evra have decided to end their collaboration. The player's contract is officially terminated with immediate effect, ”recites the press release published by the club on its official website.

Evra suspended until 30 June 2018 by UEFA

If OM, however, wanted to highlight the "exemplary behavior on the field and in the locker room" of Patrice Evra since January 2017 and his "important role in reviving the team", the Marseille club condemns the player's gesture to Guimaraes, qualified as "irreparable". "Nothing, in substance and especially in form, justified such a slip, especially on the part of such an experienced executive player whose attitude on and off the field must inspire the youngest," adds the Olympic of Marseille in its press release.

But that's not all, since Patrice Evra also knows the sanction of UEFA. The now former OM player is suspended until June 30, 2018 from all international competitions and fined € 10.000. _AF
