The Saint Martin Football League was very happy to see a large number of players, but also supporters, present during the two days of detection.

Serge DELMAS and José GOMEZ, two members of the Montpellier Hérault Sports Club (MHSC) recruitment unit, were in Saint-Martin at the request of the Football League to identify potential talents and make recommendations for improving skills players from Saint Martin. Three sessions were held to allow players of the different categories to express themselves and hope to impress the MHSC recruiters:

U12 / U13, U14 / U15 and U16

A hundred candidates responded present during these two days to register and participate in this first detection in partnership with the MHSC; with a most impressive number of participants for the U15 category where around 50 candidates were listed.

“This first initiative was both very satisfying and fruitful. I think it can be said that the results of these two days are positive.

In addition, the benefits that we have already collected, as well as the assessment provided by the MHSC, will serve as indicators of relevant and qualifying readjustments.

The Saint-Martin Football League plans to continue this initiative to expose players from Saint-Martin to create a professional opportunity for our young people but also continue our approach of supporting clubs through training, programs exchanges that will allow them to develop their knowledge and observe what is happening elsewhere in the world of football.

On behalf of the Saint-Martin Football League, I congratulate the participants, congratulations to the educators and parents. We have an interesting project, we, the members of the league council, and we remain motivated and convinced that we can do it with rigor, diligence and perseverance. ”

The recruiters underlined the fact that there is a strong potential in Saint-Martin but that there is a lack of football culture. According to recruiters, an effort remains to be deepened, such as support for training, the quality of training through the qualification of educators. They also make a point of honor on the fact that the golden age of recruitment is between the categories U9 and U12.

MM.DELMAS and GOMEZ then go to Guadeloupe and then to Martinique, before returning to Montpellier where a deliberation will be organized in order to give their overall impressions on their stays in Saint-Martin, in Guadeloupe and in Martinique.

A report on the football levels and skills of the players observed will be drawn up.

Finally, a comparative analysis of the three islands will be carried out and recommendations will be issued for each of the territories. _AF
