During the last Territorial Council of the year, the president of the Community Aline Hanson announced that an envelope of 4,6 million euros will come to replenish the coffers under the relief fund for the departments in difficulty.
“After written requests, three million euros had been signed for Saint-Martin. We asked for an additional gesture and were heard ”, indicated the president in plenary session. Last December, as part of the 2015 amending budget, MEPs voted to create this fund - managed on behalf of the State by the National Solidarity Fund for Autonomy - for departments in financial difficulty. The president also declared that the debt of the RSA, which amounts to 48 million euros, should be relieved by the state. _EH
