4 employees of the EDF group showed their solidarity after the passage of hurricane Irma by responding to the support operation launched on September 000, 13 and managed by the EDF Group Foundation.
After deliberation by the Board of Directors of the EDF Group Foundation, four projects of the Collectivity of Saint-Martin - Solidarity and Families Pole - People's Autonomy Department have been approved for the sum of € 155.
ACTION 1: Purchase of materials (corrugated sheets, windows, etc.) for housing rehabilitation
Observation: a diagnosis has highlighted the situation and the conditions of home support for the elderly and people with disabilities who have been harmed by the degradation of their habitat following the passage of hurricane Irma.
Target audience : Elderly people and people with disabilities
Number of people concerned: 50
Goal : Improve housing conditions and facilitate autonomy and home support for the elderly and people with disabilities
ACTION 2: Purchase of essential equipment
Observation: Following Hurricane Irma, basic equipment (refrigerator, washing machine, gas stove, etc.) was completely destroyed.
Target audience : Elderly people and people with disabilities
Number of people concerned: 100
Goal : Keep elderly people and people with disabilities at home and fight against insecurity and exclusion.
ACTION 3: Purchase of computer equipment and games for schools
Observation: After the passage of hurricane Irma, 8 schools whose BCDs were damaged.
Target audience : Schoolchildren (8 establishments)
Start-up : end of October 2018
Goal : promote access to knowledge, continue to experiment with 4 bilingual classes and acquire imitation games for 4 nursery schools.
