Humanitarian / Secours Catholique - Caritas France always present alongside the affected populations of Saint-Martin!

Following Hurricane Irma, Secours Catholique - Caritas France is continuing its post-emergency action thanks to volunteers from the Caribbean region, who go out into the field to meet the victims and support them in material and moral terms so that they can 'they can rebuild their lives in the best possible conditions.

Thanks to a surge of solidarity from its donors, since September, Secours Catholique - Caritas France has been working on the implementation of its post-emergency system to allow families to resume normal life as quickly as possible on the island, following the passage of cyclone IRMA.

Many volunteers from Saint-Martin, Martinique, Guadeloupe and Guyana have been on the job since November 6 to visit and support disaster-stricken families in the districts of Orléans, Sandy-Ground, d 'Approval and Grand-Case.

To date, nearly 1 families have been visited since the system was put in place, including 000 families who have benefited from material aid.

The overriding objective of this intervention is to provide moral support to families by personally listening to them and helping them to resume their activities through the targeted distribution of donations in kind.

In parallel with this action, Secours Catholique-Caritas France is emphasizing sheltering families in addition to charitable and social actions in favor of the population of Saint-Martin.

On the occasion, free breakfasts were held on December 22 and 23, 2017 to which the disaster victims visited by our volunteers were invited. An event organized by Secours Catholique- Caritas France brought great comfort to Saint-Martinois following the aftermath left by IRMA.

Beyond its post-emergency system, Secours Catholique-Caritas France intends to perpetuate its presence and its intervention by creating a local team that will ensure the missions and values ​​of the association in Saint-Martin.
