The general direction of public finances sent a letter to the owners in order to be able to evaluate the buildings impacted or not and thus "to avoid claiming the payment of this tax to the owners who saw their property destroyed or made unfit for any use during the Hurricane Irma and, to a lesser extent, Maria ”.
The owners are thus invited to make themselves known to public finances * by filling in a form. They must draw up an inventory of their property before Irma and describe it on January 1, 2018. Photos can be attached.
The files will be examined by the territorial commission of the property taxes made up of elected officials of the territorial council.
