From Monday, August 2, particular attention will be paid by the territorial police and the national gendarmerie to compliance with measures relating to the conformity of vehicle registration, announces the Collectivity.

Particular attention will be paid to all motor vehicles (2, 3 and 4 wheels) currently with metropolitan registration or originating from an overseas department.

The Collectivity of Saint-Martin recalls that it is responsible for the application of the provisions relating to articles R322-1 to R322-7 of the highway code, transcribed in a deliberation of the territorial council of Saint-Martin dated 25 March 2010.

These provisions provide in particular that "any owner of a vehicle subject to registration must, in the month following the change of residence, send a declaration to the Collectivity of Saint-Martin". In the event of an offense, a 4th class criminal fine may be imposed (135 euros).

The Collectivity invites vehicle owners to present themselves now to the registration certificate service (formerly the registration certificate service, offices located opposite the Collectivity hotel) in order to proceed with a regularization.on administrative. If the file is compliant, a provisional registration certificate (CPI) will be issued. He will inform of the new Saint-Martin registration. This will allow the vehicle owner to have the license plates installed by a professional (as a reminder, the plates must be riveted and not screwed).

The list of parts necessary for this registration is available on the website of the Collectivity

It will be possible to be informed of the availability of his new registration certificate by means of an SMS or on the website of the Collectivity at the following address:
