Aline Hanson, president of the Collectivity of Saint-Martin and the mayor of Bry-sur-Marne, Jean-Pierre Spilbauer, signed a twinning oath last Saturday, aiming to materialize a partnership to develop the audiovisual sector in Saint-Martin .
“The objective of this twinning oath between the city of Bry-sur-Marne and Saint-Martin is to set up a cinematographic and audiovisual sector together in Saint-Martin. It is a very promising commitment for our overseas community and an innovative project eagerly awaited by many young people who want to make their dream come true in this way of the future, ”notes Aline Hanson.
“We have made youth a priority of our electoral mandate. Concrete achievements have been implemented over the past 4 years.
And it is to continue this dynamic that we will develop the audiovisual cinema sector. Our young people will have the opportunity to train on site and also to go to Bry-sur-Marne, hence our twinning oath. Bry-sur-Marne has many advantages. The city is at the gates of Eurodisney, it is a tourist and cultural destination, its film studios being renowned ”.
The project in three parts:
• The creation of a filming office, which will support the community and productions in the search for filming sites, administrative procedures, logistics.
• The creation of a studio which will provide all the technical services, the arrangement of the film crews, all the means of production, the accessories, the sets, etc.
• The deployment of training within a school of cinema professions.
There are more and more requests for filming authorization (broadcasts and series), which is also why it is necessary to organize the sector and offer a full service, as other regions do.
Saint Martin has entered a new dynamic and the whole challenge of this project is to implement structuring development policies with Caribbean influence.
A project that should create direct and indirect economic activity and therefore local jobs. _AF
