0

Last Friday, Orange and Dauphin Telecom formalized their fiber optic deployment program with the State and the Tintamarre company by signing an agreement. THD Tel will do so in the next few days. The opportunity to understand the site.

What does the deployment of optical fiber consist of?

It consists of three stages:

- civil engineering works on public roads (construction of networks / equipment through which the fiber will pass),

- the laying of fiber in this network up to the entrance of a subdivision, a building, a residence and the installation of outlets according to the number of potential users (households, commercial premises, schools , etc.),

- the user's connection to this socket.

Who does what ?

The second step is carried out by an infrastructure operator (Dauphin Telecom, Orange, TDH Tel who have divided the territory), the last by a network operator (Dauphin Telecom, Orange, TDH Tel) chosen by the individual, a joint ownership . As for the marketing of the package, it is provided by a commercial operator (Dauphin Telecom, Orange, TDH Tel, Canal + Telecom, etc.).

To date, part of the civil engineering has already been carried out by Orange, Dauphin and THD Tel on their own funds, which has enabled them to start fiberizing certain sectors. The other part of the civil engineering will be done by SAS Tintamarre which will then make the network available to Orange and Dauphin according to an agreement.

In 2021, it is planned to carry out 40 linear meters of civil engineering and 000 linear meters in 31. This year, the work will concern the sectors of Colombier, Grand Case, Mont Vernon, Saint-Louis, La Savane, Cul de Sac , Bellevue, Orient Bay and Orleans District. Next year will be concerned Marigot, Sandy Ground, Concordia, Spring, Galisbay, Agrément, Pic Paradis, Morne Valois and Friar's Bay.

In which areas is the fiber already installed?

It is used in areas where civil engineering work was not necessary because it has already been carried out.  To date, Orange has enabled nearly 4 homes to be connected to optical fiber in 500 neighborhoods: Quartier d'Orléans, Oyster Pond, Anse Marcel, Cul-de-Sac, Mont-Vernon, Orléans Spring, Hope Estate, Concordia, Concordia Spring and Marigot. “At the same time, studies have started for the districts of Galisbay, Friar's bay and Agrément. The service will be marketed there from the first quarter of 10 ”, specifies Orange.

As for Dauphin, it already offers 2 connectable outlets in the park and gardens of Orient Bay, Hope Estate, Grand Case and Bellevue. THD Tel has 174 outlets in Nettle Bay and the Terres Basses.
