Women and men: equality in question

0

As part of International Women's Day, the National Institute for Statistics and Economic Studies (Insee) published a national study entitled “Women and men - equality in question”. In the Antilles, the investigations were not carried out in the Northern Islands, but in Guadeloupe and Martinique. With regard to education in Guadeloupe, “although inequalities in achievement, educational level and orientation between the sexes have been reduced over the past decades, strong gaps persist at the age of study”. The institute indicates that until the end of secondary school, young girls do better and continue their studies longer. More boys follow a preparatory class for the grandes écoles. _EH
