"You are not alone" is the message that the Trait d'Union association wishes to convey to victims of domestic violence via an 8-minute short film that it has just produced locally with the support of the prefecture. and COM.
The film describes a scene of violence committed by a man on his partner. An argument breaks out when the young woman returns from shopping and her friend criticizes her for her dress. The young woman finds support from her friends who encourage her to denounce the assaults of which she is a victim.
"This short film is a support intended for the various actors who intervene in the fight against domestic violence and the support of the victims as well as for the world of National Education to sensitize the youngest", specifies Olivier Fatou, the director of Hyphen. Through this mini fiction, the objective is to explain to assaulted women where and how they can find help.
In 2020, the number of domestic violence increased further in Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy; they were more than 240 to file a complaint. The Trait d'Union association confirms that it receives more and more women. Unfortunately, she is forced to reduce psychological support for lack of human resources. And so to launch an appeal to liberal doctors who would like to get involved and offer consultations and support for women victims of domestic violence.
For the moment the short film is in French language, very soon a version with English subtitles will be available.
