It was a real family tragedy that occurred last Thursday in the Dutch Quarter area. A mother suffering from psychological problems threw her baby, only six days old, from the balcony of her apartment.
The police and rescue teams quickly rushed to the scene to treat the newborn suffering from multiple injuries. The baby was rushed to the Sint Maarten Medical Center. Fortunately and after medical examinations, his very young life is not in danger.
As for the mother, she was arrested by the police and then admitted to a psychiatric center. _AF
