During the night from Friday to Saturday, around 4 a.m., a patrol from the Gendarmerie Surveillance and Intervention Platoon (PSIG) was refused compliance by the driver of a car in the area of Nice view.
The military then set off in pursuit of the motorist heading for Cole Bay. The latter manages to cross the border, crosses the bridge of Simpson Bay (Causeway) and takes the direction of Maho. Meanwhile, the police alert their counterparts in the Dutch police who send several patrols to put an end to the run of the motorist who obviously has things to blame himself for.
Gendarmes and Dutch police then take the direction of Mullet Bay. When the police arrived, the wanted driver turned around but hit a rock located on the side of the road, synonymous with the end of his ride.
The motorist and his passenger were arrested by the police. During his arrest, the driver was found carrying a handgun. A second weapon will also be discovered during the search of the vehicle.
