The International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women will be on Friday. Yesterday, the Minister of Women's Rights, Laurence Rossignol, presented to the Council of Ministers a new plan to fight against this violence (2017-2019), with a budget - revised upwards - of nearly 125 million euros for a hundred measures. Locally, the Soroptimist Club invites the population to join the United Nations campaign entitled “Unite to end violence against women” for 16 days. “Let's all put the color orange on windows, balconies, shop windows, with the aim of bringing about changes, for a better future without violence, on our island in particular and in the world in general”, indicates the club. _EH
