After more than ten months of work, Grand-Case Airport now has a new spacious and functional terminal.

The new terminal at Grand-Case L'Espérance Airport was inaugurated last Tuesday in the presence of many personalities including the Prefect of the Northern Islands, Anne Laubies, of the President of the Community, Aline Hanson, of the Deputy, Daniel Gibbs , the CEO of SNC-Lavalin, Youssef Sabeh and the director of the Grand-Case airport, Mr. Mongi Djouba.

The inauguration of the new terminal marks the end of the first phase of the works. It succeeds the creation of a fueling station, the helicopter parking lot, the doubling of the surface of the general aviation parking lot and the recent construction of the new building which houses the control tower and the fire station.

The development of Grand-Case Airport is now on the right track. It now remains to shift into high gear to begin work to extend the runway, from 1 to 200 meters.

For this, the group is waiting for the Collectivity to buy the famous land ...

Also during this evening, the airport director, Mr. Mongi Djouba announced his departure from Saint-Martin. He will soon join SNC Lavalin headquarters located in Montreal. Did you say thermal shock?

His successor is called Daniel Lefebvre who was the head of Mayotte airport for five years.

Good luck to Mr. Mongi Djouba in his new professional role in Canada and welcome to Daniel Lefebvre! _AF
