Employment: LADOM and the COM combine their efforts in favor of the professional integration of young people from Saint-Martin

Florus Nestar, Managing Director of LADOM (the Overseas Agency for Mobility) and Daniel Gibbs, President of the Collectivity of Saint-Martin, signed a partnership agreement for the year 2022 last Wednesday.

This renewable cooperation aims to support the rise in qualification, professionalization and entry into employment of the public of Saint-Martin through mobility training.

The agreement specifies, among other things, the scope and methods of intervention of each stakeholder, the various eligible qualification schemes, the shared objectives, the public concerned and the allocated budget.

The objective is to offer a training offer complementary to that of the COM, ranging from qualifying training to work-study training with apprenticeship and professionalization contracts. The training is remunerated, an additional allowance for accommodation and/or mobility is also provided in compliance with the provisions of the labor code. This offer is open to job seekers over the age of 18, registered with the Pôle Emploi de Saint-Martin for at least 6 months, subject to means testing. For the period from March 1 to December 31, 2022, the Collectivity grants a subsidy of €700.

Mobility training, of which work-study is an integral part, will relate to qualification levels 3 to 8 and will be complementary to the Collectivity's offer. They must, as far as possible, meet the needs of the territory, in order to encourage the return of Saint-Martinois to employment in their territory, once their training has been completed.

In order to ensure close monitoring and facilitate the care of the public, LADOM has set up a dedicated team, made up of Fanélie Mesle, head of the Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy branch and integration advisers professional. The newly created team will soon take up residence in the new premises of the local Mission of Saint-Martin. Synergy and complementarity will thus be possible between the various public services in charge of employment and training of young people.
