The Prefect, Anne Laubies and the President, Daniel Gibbs signed, on Monday, June 18, the agreement to initiate the Saint-Martin Skills Investment Plan (PIC).

This Plan emanates from the Large Investment Plan signed by the Prime Minister on September 25, 2017 and whose objective is to accelerate the digital and ecological transformation of France.

Deployed over 5 years, this system will make it possible to finance training courses for the least qualified in the service of competitiveness and employment.

For the year 2018, the community of Saint-Martin has undertaken to maintain its own effort of 279 training courses for people looking for work for a total amount of 1,1 million euros ( 85% of which are financed by the European Social Fund - ESF).

Within these 279 entries in training, the community will provide a 50% share for people with little or no qualifications, or for refresher training, mastery of basic knowledge, remobilization or assistance with project development.

By this agreement, the community of Saint-Martin undertakes to promote 300 additional training actions with Pôle Emploi for people with little or no qualifications, whose funding is borne by the State up to 1,7 million euros.

Thus, this training course of 579 places for a total cost of 2.8 million euros is already open to Saint-Martinois wishing to train.

This training plan aims to be piloted as closely as possible to the needs of companies and regions, and to promote experiments, their evaluation and capitalization to measure the effectiveness of the investments made. A partnership with Pôle Emploi makes it possible to establish the arrangements for consultation, implementation and monitoring of the system.

Very attached to the training of young people and the public in search of employment, the President of the community said he was particularly satisfied with the signing of this agreement with the State.

The Prefect, Anne Laubies for her part praised the commitment of the State and the Collectivity in the service of Saint-Martinois.
