Yesterday morning, Initiative Saint-Martin Active and its partners presented the CFGA program to the press. The leaders of associations in Saint-Martin will thus have the opportunity to validate their skills with a diploma: the association management training certificate.
This qualifying training is recognized by the regional directorate for youth, sports and social cohesion (DRJSCS). Lasting a minimum of one year, over sixty hours, this training is tailor-made for associations in Saint-Martin and it takes into account the knowledge already acquired by the participants. It will cost trainees only 150 euros. According to Marc Chakhtoura, the director of Initiative, the diploma is available for the first time on the island, it is the official recognition of the achievements of the participants, whether they are volunteers or employees. For the first series, there are already 13 project leaders and these have been selected from associations. Throughout their journey to the CFGA, they will work on the associative project of their choice, between September 2015 and September 2016.
