It's official. As promised, Emmanuel Macron will return to Saint-Martin in September, for Irma's birthday.
Benjamin Griveaux, the government spokesperson, announced it during his report of the Council of Ministers held on Wednesday August 22: “We had a rapid communication from the Minister of Overseas France on the hurricane Irma and on the follow-up given. It is obviously an exceptional disaster which led to exceptional measures by the State with the appointment of an interministerial delegate for reconstruction and with the mobilization of nearly 500 million euros in loans and grants to support the population of the two islands facing the crisis. There will be an interministerial committee that will be held in the coming weeks, before the President of the Republic's trip scheduled for the end of September ”.
