The Collectivity is involved in the path of sustainable development. In the context of the recycling of household waste, great efforts remain to be made: “The objective is to improve the tonnes of recycled waste and performance per inhabitant.” The COM will soon set up a new communication campaign to raise awareness among the population. In December 2015, President Aline Hanson signed an agreement with Eco-Emballages to boost waste sorting. The territory's goal is to achieve “a 100% growth rate for the recycling of household packaging by 2018”.
