Legislative elections: Claire Javois elected deputy of the Northern Islands

Claire Javois, the candidate Les Républicains (LR), was elected MP with 54,73% of the votes cast (3.462 votes) in the constituency of Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy, in the second round of legislative elections last Saturday, succeeding Daniel Gibbs. Her opponent Inès Bouchaut-Choisy, the candidate of the Republic on the march (LRM) collected 45,27% of the vote (2.864 votes), according to the results of the commission of census of the votes. Ms. Javois had the support of Presidents Daniel Gibbs and Bruno Magras. Turnout was once again low in the constituency: out of 25.414 voters called to the polls, 6636 people attended, representing a turnout of 26,11% (125 spoiled ballots, 185 blank ballots, 6326 votes cast). _EH
